Topping out milestone for CODA
The CODA mixed-use development has reached a significant construction milestone with the ‘topping out’ of the 13-storey building. This ceremony, a traditional celebration held when the final concrete slab is poured, signifies the project’s structural completion.
James Boyd, Executive Chairman of Paynter Dixon stated “Paynter Dixon, in partnership with the C.ex Group, is proud to be delivering CODA to the future owners and Coffs Harbour community.”
“Our commitment to quality and safety is reflected in this Topping Out milestone. Over 980 workers had been inducted to date, culminating in 118 toolbox talks and more than 274,000 work hours.”
“This combined effort can also be measured in the sheer volume of materials required to reach this point. Almost 10,000 cubic metres of concrete – equivalent to four Olympic swimming pools – have been poured on site.”
“Strongly aligned with the community values of C.ex Group, Paynter Dixon appreciates the important role CODA will play in rejuvenating the Coffs Harbour town centre. We look forward to completing this landmark development.”
C.ex Group CEO, John Rafferty remarked that “the CODA development will be a significant boost for Coffs Harbour. With 250 residents moving into the development in the City Centre, it promises to benefit local business owners by increasing activity in the area”.
A team from Paynter Dixon, local dignitaries, C.ex Group Board, Management, local trade suppliers and media personnel attended the event. The prominent tower crane contributed to the visual spectacle by lowering the boxed ceremonial tree onto the top slab.
Once completed, the CODA Apartment Building will feature 95 modern apartments, retail spaces and a dedicated Veterans Centre, supporting local veterans and their families.
