A complex project design which included heritage restoration, specialist slate roof repair and a busy operational health site.

The heritage-listed Kenilworth House at St Luke’s Care in the Sydney suburb of Potts Point is a perfect example of a Victorian building, including a 35-degree pitched slate roof.

However, over time, the roof began leaking and urgently needed repair.

The project included all the complexity of a heritage restoration, including asbestos removal.

Paynter Dixon was engaged to design and construct repairs.

Fortunately, Paynter Dixon has experience in the speciality job of slate roof repair – contracting an expert team to undertake the tile replacement.

The slate shingles contained asbestos. The project team drafted and implemented a safe work removal plan for the asbestos.

Kenilworth House is located on a busy site – creating access and delivery issues.

The project team completed the project with minimal disruption.
