Operating Theatres complete at iconic Sydney Hospital
Following a successful tender process, Paynter Dixon has refurbished three new operating theatres at the iconic St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
The new state-of-the-art operating theatres include lighting upgrades and decontamination stations to provide a better working environment for theatre staff.
To ensure surgery commitments were met, and disruption to patients and hospital staff was minimised, the work was completed in two stages.
The second stage included refurbishment and an internal re-configuration to create several new endoscopy suites.
Paynter Dixon General Manager of Design Nick Healey said it has been be a privilege to work with such a well-respected health institution.
“Working within a live hospital environment was challenging but we have an experienced project team who delivered the project without disruption and within program.
“This is Paynter Dixon’s first project with St Vincent’s and we intend to complete the job meticulously and within program,” Mr Healey said.
Founded in 1857 by the Sisters of Charity, St Vincent’s Hospital is a world-renowned facility, which functions as an acute public teaching hospital.
