Paynter Dixon has breathed new life – and light – into a quiet corner of Cowra Services Club, creating a hugely popular bar and servery in the township.
Over the past five years, Paynter Dixon has worked closely with the Club to modernise facilities for the benefit of new and traditional patrons alike.
The latest project has involved the conversion of an under-utilised function area into a bar and servery.
A retractable roof and operable glass wall enable the manipulation of space – separating or combining indoor and outdoor environments as desired.
Featuring a vergola and concertina windows located on the outer wall, the outdoor lounge and terrace also exploit natural light and ventilation.
Since opening, ‘CJ’s @ 101 Brisbane’ has become the talk of the town, showcasing local musicians, regional produce and al fresco dining. Brimming with personality, CJ’s is equally appealing to a younger generation, attracting new patrons to the Club community.
“The venue has exceeded every expectation,” says Lloyd Garratt, General Manager of Cowra Services Club. “The working relationship we have with Paynter Dixon and the whole team, including Business Development Manager Tony Fucile, is absolutely fantastic.”
Paynter Dixon avoided disruption to the operational club, hoarding off the site and maintaining separate access during construction. Local contractors were also engaged from Cowra and nearby Bathurst.
In recent years, other refurbishments of the Club have included internal lounges, gaming areas and a bistro servery.
