A sense of place and peacefulness is reflected in the refurbishment of facilities at this revered cemetery in south-west Sydney.
Liverpool Cemetery’s history can be traced back to the late 1800s, with generations embracing the cemetery as part of their family history.
Prestigious sites such as St Padre Pio Garden Crypts, family vaults and monumental burial graves contribute to the cemetery’s heritage and standing within the Liverpool community.
Paynter Dixon was engaged by Catholic Cemeteries + Crematoria to refurbish existing facilities.
Our scope of work included administration and staff amenities, café and condolence room.
The modern two-storey office facilities feature meeting rooms and upstairs kitchen and lounge for staff.
Patrons of ‘Aunty Poppy’s’ café can view the surrounding cemetery gardens while seated beneath the architecturally-designed canopy.
The adjoining condolence room also offers a peaceful and refined interior space distinguished by marble and decorative timber joinery.
Further work involved the replacement of ceilings within the crypts.
For the duration, our site team worked sensitively in an operational cemetery environment.
