Sensitively navigating a complex and dynamic hospital environment, Paynter Dixon has refurbished world-class operating theatres.
Founded in 1857 by the Sisters of Charity, St Vincent’s Hospital is one of Australia’s most iconic hospitals.
Paynter Dixon was engaged by the hospital to refurbish seven operating theatres, including the replacement of pendants, surgical lighting and finishes.
Our team staged work across an environment which had to remain sterile, live and operational during both construction and the commissioning of services within each of the stages.
Going to extraordinary lengths to minimise disruption, access to operating theatres was provided through an opening in the façade on level 5. This alternate entry point required installation of gantry scaffold above the hospital drive.
Other measures included working out of hours and the lodgement of disruption notices for all service shutdowns.
Upon completion of each stage, the expectation was to have the area prepared and ready for use by various medical practitioners.
