Penrith Christian School – Playground

Penrith Christian School (PCS) is Sydney’s only independent Christian Toddler to Year 12 school.

PCS is renowned for ‘all-roundedness’ – catering to the vast needs of students with diverse learning styles, course subjects and facilities.

The school seized an opportunity to convert a general grass area into a vibrant new student hub.

Beyond play, this space is designed to foster cognitive and physical development, teamwork, and social interaction.

The playground’s design subtly encourages students to imagine, explore and ‘choose their own adventure’.

Features include:

  • climbing structures, ropes, and slides
  • amphitheatre
  • climbing mound
  • shade structure
  • boardwalk
  • soft fall

Site constraints yielded unexpected benefits. Rather than infilling a sloping swale, our team proposed the construction of a small bridge which has since become a popular play structure for students.

“It’s more than a playground” reports the school. “It’s a place where our students will grow, learn, and thrive together.”
