After a hail event severely damaged the factory of a leading ACT wholesaler, Paynter Dixon implemented a range of measures to ensure the business remained operational during large-scale roofing repairs.
Metal Flex is a leading wholesaler and distributor of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in Australia. The factory is located on a large industrial site in Fyshwick.
The building was subject to a severe hail storm in 2020, causing significant damage to the roof. Paynter Dixon was engaged to remove and replace 3,600 square metres of damaged roof – equivalent to half a rugby field in area.
Overcoming challenges
Operating at height and on occupied premises, rigorous safety protocols were implemented by the site team.
It was also important for the business to remain operational during the period of works. This was a logistical feat involving crane deployment and and maintaining a water-tight building.
